Services

Accounts, tax returns, VAT, PAYE and MTD, handled with ambition.

For professional advice dealing with all aspects of accounts and tax, with a friendly and informal approach.

Accounts

Year-end accounts

For limited companies, sole traders and partnerships.

Ask about Accounts

Whether you need an accountancy firm for the first time or you are moving from another practice, we deal with all aspects of your accounts.

For a limited company, that means the year-end statutory accounts filed with Companies House, which also sit behind your company tax return. For sole traders and partnerships, your accounts are the basis of the figures on your Self Assessment return.

We look beyond the numbers too. Kingsbere is a firm with ambition, and we want to help you understand your figures and improve your business, not just file the paperwork.

What we can help with

  • Year-end accounts for limited companies
  • Accounts for sole traders and partnerships
  • Filing with Companies House
  • A smooth move from another firm

Tax returns

Self Assessment tax returns

Personal tax returns, prepared with you and filed on time.

Ask about Tax returns

If you are self-employed, a partner in a business, receive rental income, or have other income that is not taxed through PAYE, you will usually need to file a Self Assessment tax return with HMRC each year.

Online returns are due by 31 January following the end of the tax year on 5 April, which is also when any balance of tax is due. We work through your figures with you and explain what you owe and why, including any payments on account.

With a Chartered Tax Adviser on the team, you get advice on the wider picture as well as the return itself.

What we can help with

  • Self Assessment tax returns
  • Self-employed and partnership income
  • Rental income from property
  • Payments on account explained

Tax

Corporation tax and tax advice

Advice from a Chartered Tax Adviser.

Ask about Tax

Debbie Scott is a Chartered Tax Adviser (CTA) as well as a Fellow Chartered Certified Accountant (FCCA), so the tax advice you receive comes from a specialist qualification.

For limited companies, the company tax return (CT600) and the corporation tax calculation go hand in hand with your year-end accounts. For business owners and individuals, we can talk through all aspects of tax, from how you take money out of your business to planning ahead for the year to come.

We explain things plainly, with a friendly and informal approach.

What we can help with

  • Company tax returns (CT600)
  • Corporation tax calculations
  • Tax questions for owners and directors
  • Advice from a CTA qualified adviser
“For professional advice, dealing with all aspects of accounts and tax.”
A friendly and informal approach!

VAT

VAT registration and returns

From the first question to every quarter's return.

Ask about VAT

VAT raises questions for any business: whether you need to register, which scheme suits you, and what you can reclaim. Debbie and the team are happy to give you advice on all aspects of VAT, so you know where you stand.

Once you are registered, VAT returns are usually due every quarter and must be submitted through Making Tax Digital compatible software. We can prepare and submit your returns and help you keep the records behind them in order.

What we can help with

  • Advice on whether to register
  • Choosing a VAT scheme
  • Preparing and submitting VAT returns
  • What you can and cannot reclaim

PAYE

PAYE, payroll and RTI

For employers, and for directors paying themselves a salary.

Ask about PAYE

If you employ staff, or pay yourself a salary through your own company, PAYE is part of running your business. Employers report pay and deductions to HMRC in real time (RTI) each time people are paid.

We give advice on all aspects of PAYE, from setting up as an employer to running payroll and the RTI submissions that go with it, joined up with your accounts, VAT and tax.

What we can help with

  • Registering as an employer
  • Payroll and payslips
  • RTI submissions to HMRC
  • Director salaries

Making Tax Digital

Making Tax Digital (MTD)

MTD for VAT and MTD for Income Tax.

Ask about MTD

Making Tax Digital is HMRC's programme to move tax records and returns online. VAT-registered businesses already need to keep digital records and file VAT returns using MTD-compatible software.

MTD for Income Tax began on 6 April 2026 for sole traders and landlords with qualifying income over £50,000, and the threshold falls to £30,000 from April 2027. Those affected keep digital records, send quarterly updates to HMRC and make a final declaration after the tax year.

If you are not sure whether MTD applies to you, or which software to use, give us a call and talk it through.

What we can help with

  • Checking whether MTD applies to you
  • MTD for VAT
  • MTD for Income Tax
  • Choosing compatible software
